The Benefits of CBD Products Depends on Which Products You Use – Here is Why

Though there is much talk of the benefits of CBD products around the culture of today, what all is true, and what all is just hype? It is common knowledge that the popularity of CBD products are increasing as the world becomes more educated and the people begin to have an acceptance of the once deemed evil compound. How much do people really know about CBD? What exactly is it? We intend to address these questions and a few more with this article. Keep reading and maybe you will learn a thing or two yourself.

What is CBD?

CBD is a cannabinoid, much like THC, that is found in abundance in the cannabis plant. The cannabis plant has  been on the earth for millions of years and humans have been using it for as long as history has allowed us to venture back and look upon. At one point, the hemp plant was very useful for people in the way that it is great for making paper, clothing, and textiles of all sorts. As soon as somebody got wind that there was THC and the stuff that could get you “stoned” the uneducated ones started trying to shut it all down and make it illegal for use.

Some theories suggest that when the logging community learned that hemp could shut them down and they could lose big money because it was in direct competition for paper products that the bigwigs behind the scenes got together to attack the hemp plant in order to keep their business profits flowing inward. The truth behind this is obscure, and we may never know. In any event, CBD was not popular, or even discovered, until later in the game.

Although scientists do not have a clear definition of what CBD does for the cannabis plant, they have a general idea that the cannabinoids that are present within the plant are there as a form of survival for the plant.

In one aspect, the cannabinoids can deter pests and other hazards from eating the plant and devouring it from life. In another aspect the cannabinoids can be of use when the plant is trying to attract pollinating insects. Both sides of the coin attribute to the survival of the plant. Protection from pests is one side of the aspect, and the power to procreate is the other.

In essence a CBD is a cannabinoid and a cannabinoid is part of the cannabis species that makes it different from the rest of the plant species out there.

CBD Products in General

In case you haven’t noticed there are literally millions of different types of CBD products available on the market. The one key fact to remember is that CBD is only one small part of a whole, and that hemp extracts that contain CBD are actually the true products.

The type of extracts that happen for hemp plants are full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolated extracts.

The full-spectrum of the extracts contain the entire spectrum of the hemp plant within the exaction. What this means is that within the extraction there will be all of the other cannabinoids that are present in the hemp plant along with all of the terpenes, flavonoids and other compounds that make up the structure of the hemp plant.

In any event, this extraction process can lead up to a multitude of possibilities. CBD eye drops, CBD lotions, CBD lip balm, CBD makeup…and on and on.

The best products to look out for are the most natural ones, so keep in mind that if you are trying to read better by purchasing a set of CBD infused reading glasses, you might be let down.

Of course, it would be easy to add a couple of drops of hemp extract to the material that will make up the frame of the eye glasses, but to expect results from the frames themselves would be ludacris. Be aware of crafty marketers that are ready to take your money in an instant.

CBD Tinctures and Oils

The most popular type of CBD product is obviously tinctures or oils. The difference between a tincture and an oil is the way that the essential oils are drawn and extracted from the plant. In essence, both of these media are one in the same, however the way that one goes about getting them are very different.

CBD tinctures are created so that all you have to do is put a couple of drops directly under your tongue and you will get the desired effect. If you think about it, putting the substance under the tougne and allowing it to seep into the bloodstream quickly and effortlessly has got to be the fastest and most inconspicuous way to get CBD into your bloodstream. The only way, as far as has been proven by science, for CBD to work is when it gets into the bloodstream.

CBD Oil vs. Hempseed Oil: What's the Difference?

There are several ways for the cannabinoid to become introduced into the bloodstream but the most practical way is to drop a couple of drops of oil or tincture under the tongue.

Smoking Hemp

The only way to get CBD into the bloodstream faster than under the tongue is to smoke it (unless you inject it…but that’s unheard of). When a person inhales the smoke the contents of it go directly through the lungs and into the bloodstream. This is one of the reasons why smoking marijuana is so popular and effective. It only takes a few moments for the effects of a bong hit to come into effect.

In all honesty, there is no need to smoke hemp for the benefits of CBD. It is best to stick to the products that you know will work and will give you the results that you are seeking.

Gummies and Gelcaps

Many CBD enthusiasts love to use gummies or gel caps to deliver their favorite cannabinoid into the bloodstream. Gummies and gelcaps are effective if they are formulated properly and can withstand the raging acids of the digestive system. If you were to swallow a couple of drops of CBD oil directly without putting them under the tongue the stomach acids in the digestive system would destroy the oil and leave it worthless before it even got a half of a chance to enter the bloodstream.

This is why gummies and gel caps can be good. Both of these types of CBD media are endowed with a special buffer that allows for the CBD to get through the violent digestive tract and make it to the bloodstream to deliver effects.

The only problem with gel caps and gummies is that it takes at least 30 minutes for the CBD to enter the bloodstream and start working.

CBD Bull Puckey

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that marketers have taken advantage of the whole CBD boom and made their way into the mainstream. There is absolutely no reason for makeup, lip gloss, hair products, or lip balm to have CBD in it. If you are trying to use CBD for the purpose of lessening discomfort, or to help you to relax, just stick to the tinctures and gummies that you can be assured of effectiveness. Rubbing CBD into your hair is about as effective as nailing water to a tree. It just doesn’t work. Be alert and pay attention to marketing efforts. CBD is a good thing if you use it correctly, but is worthless if you don’t.
